Character
A gravel path runs behind the old row of houses, the air cool enough that the smoke from a nearby bonfire hangs low and heavy. RSX/05: Acresford opens directly into that atmosphere, the smoke note wrapping around a bright, slightly peppery geranium that cuts through the grey haze. It feels like standing still while the evening settles, the air thick with dry wood and crushed leaves underfoot.
The heart brings a drop of rose oil, but it is not a pretty floral. It is dark and resinous, blending into the smoke so completely that the flower loses its soft edges and takes on the texture of worn cedar planks. The wood grows steadier as the minutes pass, the cedar grounding the composition with a dry, aromatic firmness that smells of timber rather than perfume.
A layer of musk sits beneath the wood, lending a powdery softness that keeps the smoke from becoming too sharp against the skin. The rose lingers in the background, its oil slicked over the cedar and musk, creating a scent that is entirely woody and aromatic with a faint, dusty pink trace. The air continues to shift, the smoke curling closer to the ground as the cedar deepens its hold on the damp evening air, the musk blurring the boundary between the path and the person walking it
