Elemi adds a resinous lift that keeps the start from feeling too heavy, though the salt never quite disappears. This is a bright, slightly medicinal entrance that signals something more complex than a simple beach scent.
The heart shifts toward the softness of ylang-ylang and orchid, but driftwood grounds the flowers so they never turn powdery. Here the mood becomes calm and slightly introspective, like standing on a wooden balcony while the air turns crisp and the light loses its edge. The floral notes feel muted and mature, wrapped in a texture that is more waxy than dewy.
Cedar and patchouli take over with a steady earthiness, joined by benzoin and incense that give the base a warm, balsamic weight. Ambergris and oakmoss add a mossy depth that pulls the entire composition toward the forest floor rather than the ocean. It is a woody amber that feels substantial and slightly formal.
