Our take

Morning light fills a sunlit courtyard where stone walls hold the warmth of the day. Eau de Caron moves through this space with a bright opening of lemon and mandarin orange, sharpened by the green bite of basil and the airy lift of aldehydes. Clary sage and bergamot add a clean, herbal edge that keeps the citrus from feeling simple. The heart brings jasmine and orange blossom into the mix, their white petals softened by the dry pinch of thyme and the spicy clove tone of carnation. Cedar gives the flowers a wooden spine while orchid adds a quiet, slightly powdery softness. The base settles into oakmoss and patchouli, earthy and mossy, with leather lending a smooth, slightly worn texture. Benzoin, myrrh, amber, and vanilla wrap those darker notes in a warm, resinous glow that feels composed rather than sweet.

This is a fragrance built from contrast, where aromatic herbs and fresh spices meet a deep chypre foundation without losing their clarity. The citrus stays crisp, the florals remain poised, and the woods and resins provide a steady anchor that never turns heavy. Gerard Lefort composed a scent that carries the ease of open air while holding the substance of a classic structure. Every element feels placed with intention, from the herbal top to the amber-laced base. In this courtyard the air carries the scent of lemon, jasmine, oakmoss, and leather across a stone table set with a glass of cold water and a plate of shelled green peas.
