Our take

The leather workshop sits quiet, late afternoon sun cutting across the bench where a half-finished bag rests. Someone has just crushed black pepper over a small dish of saffron threads, and the air sharpens immediately. The spice is vivid, dry, and slightly metallic, sitting above the worn surface of the leather that already carries the room. It is not a polished, new leather, but something that has absorbed years of handling, warm and animalic in the way it breathes against the wood.

Turkish rose enters without softening the edges. It is a deep, red flower, joined by the clove-like bite of carnation and the dusty green of sage. The sage pulls the rose away from sweetness, keeping the floral side lean and aromatic. Smoke lingers in the corners of the space, curling near the ceiling, and the leather beneath it all grows heavier as the rose and spice settle into the grain. The room feels layered, each material distinct but pressed together by the stillness of the air.

Hands move across the leather, pushing the sage and carnation deeper into the surface while the pepper and saffron remain bright at the edges of the scent. The rose holds its place, never overwhelming the hide, and the smoke continues to drift through the space as the light shifts another inch across the bench, catching the texture of the material and the faint, herbal dust that hangs just above the workspace.
