Loi D'Une Femme
Fragrance notes
Character
Loi D’Une Femme opens with a shimmer of osmanthus and bitter orange, the saffron threading a sharp, almost metallic warmth through the fruit. It’s a brash, sparkling start, but the heart quickly slumps into a jammy heap of raspberry and peach, the tea note doing little to cut the sweetness. The rose and jasmine are present but feel smothered, like flowers pressed under a sticky blanket of syrup. As it dries, the leather and benzoin emerge, but they’re shy, barely anchoring the sweetness before the balsam fir and moss add a green, resinous drift that feels oddly out of place after all that fruit.
This is a fragrance that wants to be a glamorous, fruity-leather stiletto, but it wears like a platform sandal with a broken strap. The sillage sits stubbornly close to skin, and longevity fades after a few hours, so you’ll be respraying before dinner. It feels synthetic but not unpleasant, more mainstream niche in its ambition, though the execution falls short of the price tag.
Who wears this? Someone who loves a loud, sweet floral but doesn’t want to project too far, maybe for a spring lunch date or a casual afternoon out. Skip it if you crave depth or prefer your leather dark and brooding. This is a polite perfume playing dress-up, and it never quite fills the room.
