The heart introduces tar and tomato. The tar is present but restrained, more atmospheric than heavy, while the tomato note reads as stemmy and slightly aqueous. Together they push the fragrance away from the kitchen and toward a garden that smells of soil and plant sap.
The tar and tomato hold attention through the drydown. The anis accord from the tarragon lingers underneath, giving the green herbs a faint licorice thread that refuses to fade. Pepper stays faintly detectable, adding a small point of heat to the cool plant matter. The composition stays herbal and aromatic throughout, with the tar acting as a dark anchor for the vegetal tomato.
The tomato note can read thin and synthetic, especially when the tar pulls back. The fragrance lacks a warm base to round out the herbs, so the scent stays sharp and linear from start to finish.
