The heart reveals itself slowly, with crithmum adding a briny, aromatic twist that keeps the osmanthus from going full apricot jam. Labdanum gives it a leathery warmth underneath, a slightly animalic hum that saves it from being just another vanilla bomb.
The drydown is where this fragrance either wins you over or loses you. Madagascar vanilla and benzoin create a dense, syrupy amber, but the patchouli drags it back to earth with a dusty, almost cocoa-like bitterness.
