Our take

Rodrigo Faro Casual opens with a noticeable synthetic edge that persists through the first few minutes. The sage and bergamot arrive together, but the blend feels manufactured rather than natural, with a sharpness that can catch the nose if applied heavily. This artificial quality is the main drawback of the composition, and it prevents the fragrance from feeling premium.

Once the initial spray settles, the heart reveals neroli and geranium alongside a soft iris. The floral elements are clean and bright, creating a fresh atmosphere that suits warm weather and open air. The mandarin orange adds a gentle sweetness that keeps the herbs from turning too dry. It is a clear, uplifting middle section that works best when the sun is out and the air feels mild.

The base moves into cedar and vetiver, supported by amber and labdanum. The wood is dry and the vetiver adds an earthy tone that grounds the lighter top notes. A powdery facet from the iris carries into the drydown, where the amber provides a mild warmth without becoming heavy. The result is a clean woody finish that stays close to the skin in character.

The synthetic opening remains the weak point throughout the wear. It lacks the smooth transition that a more refined composition would offer, and the artificial sharpness never fully disappears into the natural notes. For a casual daytime option in spring or fall, the scent is pleasant, but the harsh start limits its overall appeal.
