Our take

On Ella opens with a bright, messy handful of cassia, papaya, and mandarin, the fruit so ripe it nearly drips, but it’s the osmanthus that gives everything a jammy, leathery wink. Within minutes the florals emerge, freesia and lily-of-the-valley pushing through like clean laundry hung in a tropical garden, jasmine and rose adding a polite, powdery sweetness. The drydown settles into a soft, vanillic blend of tonka and sandalwood with a faint earthy vetiver thread, but by then the whole thing is already whispering goodbye. The overall character is a paper lantern that glows cheerfully for two hours and then the battery dies.

At a rating of 3.62 and longevity barely scraping 2.45 out of five, this is a fragrance that knows exactly what it wants to be and takes no risks. It feels mainstream, synthetic in a pleasant, candy-wrapper way, and utterly weightless. Perfect for a spring afternoon brunch or a summer morning when you want a spritz of something cheerful without committing to a full day’s wear. Someone who loves airy, juicy florals will enjoy the fleeting hit, but if you want a scent that lasts past lunch or leaves a trail, this will frustrate you. It’s a breezy, one-note story that evaporates before finishing the second verse.
