Our take

Shisur opens with dried fruits and caraway that feel rich and slightly gritty against a soft iris veil. The fruit is not syrupy, it reads like a compressed mix of apricot and fig that has been left to darken in a cool pantry. Caraway adds a bristle of green bitterness that keeps the entry from turning plush too early.

Saffron and labdanum soon take over, resinous and golden, with orris smoothing the edges into a powdery amber that feels expensive without trying to dazzle. The oud in the base is tame, more a damp wood atmosphere than a loud animalic growl, and frankincense lends a clean lift that keeps the cedar from feeling too dry. It suits someone who enjoys resinous scents that still carry a crisp architectural line.

Picture a narrow stone street after the sun has gone, the air cool enough that a heavy scarf feels right, and the glow from a row of shop windows reflecting on wet pavement. You walk with your hands in your pockets, the scent wrapping around you like a second layer that matches the quiet rhythm of your steps, the resin and wood settling into the fabric of your coat as the night goes on and the street grows quieter
