Rêve de Miel
Fragrance notes
Character
Rêve de Miel opens with a bright, almost candied citrus that fizzes like lemonade poured over honeycomb, but the sharpness quickly melts into something warmer and more pliant. The heart is where this fragrance earns its name: a sticky, golden honey swirled with the creamy, slightly indolic lushness of orange blossom. It smells exactly like a beekeeper’s harvest spilled into a jar of orange marmalade, sweet but not cloying, with a gentle powderiness from the tonka that softens the edges. The drydown settles into a skin-hugging blend of sandalwood and musk, faintly animalic in the most polite way, like the warmth left on a well-worn sweater. That is the whole problem though. For a fragrance built around honey and orange blossom, it vanishes faster than a morning dream. With longevity under three hours and sillage barely a whisper, this is a scent that asks to be reapplied constantly, a chore that undermines its charm. It feels decidedly mainstream, more wholesome comfort than daring art, but that is not a flaw if you want something soft and easy. Who should wear it? Anyone who loves a cozy, sweet floral for cool autumn afternoons or crisp winter mornings, a fragrance more at home on a scarf than a cocktail dress. Skip it if you demand presence or projection. But for the half-hour it lasts, it is genuinely lovely, a little pot of honey saved for yourself. 🍯
