Our take

Cardamom opens things with a warm, spicy snap, but La Nuit de l'Homme settles quickly into lavender and cedar, the two notes that define the rest of it. It behaves as a skin scent throughout, close and personal, with bergamot adding a thin citrus lift early on before stepping back into the lavender.

Vetiver and caraway hold the base, dry and a little bready, adding weight beneath the lavender without pushing it toward anything sweet. The overall shape stays aromatic and spiced rather than sweet, closer to a barbershop shelf than a scented candle, and the cedar keeps resurfacing well after the citrus has faded from memory.

Longevity sits at a moderate, average level, honest for a fragrance built this dry, and it is not the kind of scent that lingers dramatically once it settles. Fall and winter evenings are where it belongs, worn somewhere the cold outside makes the spice welcome and gives the dry woods real purpose. Lavender and cedar are the throughline, plain and well matched, and cardamom bookends the whole thing with one last trace of warmth.
