Our take

Lavender opens twice, once sharp and herbal alongside mandarin and black currant, then again softer in the heart next to orange blossom and jasmine. That repetition is the whole idea, an aromatic, almost masculine fougere note pushed straight into a warm floral, with petitgrain keeping the top slightly bitter. Black currant adds a dark, jammy edge alongside the brighter mandarin and citrus notes, a small contrast folded into the opening.

Madagascar vanilla, musk, and ambergris take over underneath, animalic and warm enough to give the lavender real weight, and that combination sticks around once the citrus has burned off, keeping the whole thing a modest bubble, easy to catch within arm's reach. Fall is where it shines brightest, though the fragrance holds up across most of the year, aromatic enough for daytime and sweet enough to wear to dinner. Underneath the vanilla, the lavender never fully disappears, holding its ground against all that sweetness and giving the drydown a herbal backbone alongside the gourmand warmth. It works well on someone who wants a floral with real structure rather than pure sweetness.
