Our take

Brume d'Ivoire opens with an immediate rush of pineapple and mandarin orange, brightened by a sharp squeeze of lime. Almond enters early, softening the citrus with a creamy, slightly bitter edge, while jasmine and rose add a floral lift that keeps the start from leaning too heavy. It feels polished and deliberate, like walking into a warm room after a cool morning outside.

Honey soon takes over, thick and golden, wrapping the brighter opening in a sweet layer that does not apologize for itself. Pink pepper and licorice provide a gentle bite, cutting through the sugar just enough to keep the blend interesting. Vanilla, amberwood, and sandalwood settle in beneath, creating a smooth, resinous heart that feels cozy and inviting.

As it develops further, white musk, cloves, patchouli, tonka bean, and benzoin form a base that is powdery, musky, and deeply woody. The scent sits close to the skin in a soft, amber haze that pairs well with a scarf and a quiet street. It is sweet, warm spicy, and undeniably rich, with a comforting presence that fits a crisp day outdoors or a candlelit evening indoors.

The composition is well made, but the licorice and honey combination can feel cloying to those who prefer dry, minimal blends. It is not subtle, and it does not try to be. Anyone who dislikes prominent sweetness or powdery finishes will find it overwhelming rather than pleasant.
