Naked Skin
Fragrance notes
Character
Aldehydes open Naked Skin with a bright, fizzy lift that feels like cold air hitting warm skin. The effect is clean and slightly metallic, steering clear of the heavy powder that often follows this material.
Tobacco sits at the center, dry and faintly dusty rather than sweet or cured. It carries a quiet warmth that suits a dim room and a slow evening. Ambergris adds a salty, mineral roundness that keeps the composition from leaning too dry. Cedar brings a straight, pencil-sharp grain that grounds the blend without turning it dark. Musk sits underneath everything, blurring the edges so the sharper notes do not clash.
Maria Bubnova composed this 2023 release for éther as a unisex take on wood and smoke. It feels intimate and close, better for a dinner table than a crowded party. Anyone who expects a loud, sweet tobacco will find it too restrained. The best moments arrive when the cedar and the ambergris meet the aldehydes, creating a crisp, salty wood.
