Our take

Habanita opens strangely for its era, mastic and petitgrain giving it a bitter, resinous green streak before geranium rounds the edge. It stays put from these very first minutes, and the sillage already leaves a trail that lingers in a room after the wearer has gone, real reach without needing a heavy hand at application. Nutmeg and heliotrope move in early, spice against a soft almond-like sweetness, while vetiver and cedar add a dry undertone that keeps the whole opening from drifting into anything powdery-soft. Taif rose, mimosa and jasmine crowd the middle, dense and a little old-fashioned in the best sense, floral in a way that feels composed rather than simple.

Everything resolves in the base, and this is where Habanita spends most of its time. Vanilla and amber build a thick, sweet foundation, sandalwood and oakmoss adding a mossy, earthy weight underneath, and patchouli ties the whole structure together into something dark, dense and unmistakably old-fashioned in character.

This fragrance is built for cold weather, fall and winter drawing out the amber and moss most fully. It suits anyone drawn to old-school orientals with real weight to them, and it asks for a bit of patience, letting the mossy, resinous base unfold slowly and settle fully on warm skin.
