Goldmund
Fragrance notes
Character
Goldmund opens with orange and thyme. The citrus is bright and immediately noticeable, while the thyme adds an herbal edge that keeps the start from feeling like a standard fruit opening. It moves forward quickly.
The heart brings cinnamon, labdanum, and ylang-ylang together. Cinnamon and labdanum create a resinous, warm spicy core, and ylang-ylang smooths the texture with a soft floral weight. The base carries Peru balsam, vanilla, tonka bean, and benzoin. Peru balsam and benzoin add a thick balsamic resin that coats the skin, and vanilla and tonka bean build a heavy, sweet amber foundation. The drydown sits close and feels rounded, with the balsamic notes leading and the vanilla supporting them. It suits a cold night walk or a dim room with warm lighting, where the air is still and the resin can settle without competition.
The composition stays firmly in amber, vanilla, and warm spicy territory. Woody and aromatic touches run through it, but the balsamic sweetness dominates. It ends on benzoin.
