Vaudou
Fragrance notes
Character
Vaudou opens with magnolia and saffron. The magnolia brings a soft floral tone that sits close to the skin. Saffron adds a warm, slightly metallic spice that gives the opening some edge. Together they move quickly into the heart of the fragrance.
Cypriol, frankincense, vetiver, and moss form the center. Cypriol contributes a dry, woody character. Frankincense adds resinous smoke. Vetiver brings an earthy, root-like quality, while moss deepens the green, damp feeling. The base rests on benzoin, myrrh, and sandalwood. Benzoin and myrrh provide a thick, balsamic sweetness. Sandalwood smooths the resins with a creamy wood note. The overall impression is amber, woody, and warm spicy.
This fragrance suits a dimly lit room and a quiet evening. It feels heavy and resinous rather than fresh or bright. The blend leans strongly into earthy and balsamic accords. The floral magnolia is present but stays in the background. The limitation here is the saffron. On some skin it turns sharp and scratchy, which can distract from the smooth resins underneath.
