Our take

Kubra Silver belongs on someone who wants a forest floor to feel like a room they already live in. Bertrand Duchaufour builds the opening with pink pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and hazelnut, but the spices do not rush to impress. They sit beside the wearer, warm and a little dry, while the heart brings cypriol, pine, white amber, patchouli, cashmeran and davana into a space that is earthy, aromatic and quietly conifer. The effect is not a walk outside. It is the inside of a wooden house where resin has been rubbed into the beams and the air carries a soft spicy sweetness that never asks for attention.

The base carries that atmosphere deeper with myrrh, benzoin, oakmoss, vetiver, labdanum, musk, Brazilian rosewood, sandalwood, palo santo and cedar. The amber and balsamic accords give the woods a rounded, lived-in weight, while the mossy edge keeps the blend from feeling polished or new. This is a fragrance for cool weather and slow evenings, for people who like their scent to feel like a choice they made months ago and still stand by. It suits wearers who enjoy patchouli and pine together, and who prefer an aromatic profile that stays close to the skin rather than announcing itself. Those who expect a bright, floral or clean profile will find the earthy, woody density difficult to enjoy, because the composition leans fully into its resinous, mossy character and does not offer a lighter side to balance it
