Our take

You get a quick hit of bergamot, bright but not sharp, before the almond pushes through with its marzipaned haze. The rum comes next, not a boozy blast but a warm, mellow sweetness that curls around the vanilla like steam off a freshly poured café cubano. This is no tropical island in the sun though. Instead it feels like a rum-soaked almond cake left on a veranda at dusk, the fruit and citrus notes lingering as ghost-like echoes in the woody, powdery base.

This is a soft fragrance, intimate to the point of near invisibility. Sillage sits at 2.75 and longevity barely pushes past three hours, which is a shame because the drydown is the best part: a nutty, powdery vanilla that smells like the inside of a cured vanilla bean left to rest against roasted almonds. It is unapologetically sweet but not candied, with a natural richness that feels niche in the best way, handcrafted rather than lab-extruded.

Who should wear it? Anyone who wants a scent that stays close, a personal comfort rather than a statement. Who should skip it? Those who demand projection or a full day's performance. Wear it in the cool of an autumn evening or a mild winter night, when the warmth of almond and rum can wrap around you without fighting the heat. Can a fragrance this gentle really leave a mark? It does, but only on the one who wears it, and that might be exactly the point.
