The aldehydes in Premiere by Castelbajac can feel aggressively sharp during the first few minutes. They lift the lemon and bergamot with a fizzy intensity that borders on metallic, and the peach and black currant do not soften that edge quickly enough for those who prefer a gentle introduction.
Once the opening settles, the heart reveals lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, and rose wrapped in a veil of honey and carnation. The iris adds a powdery elegance that keeps the sweetness grounded. Oakmoss and vetiver in the base bring a damp, green depth, while civet and styrax add a slightly animalic warmth. The scent carries a distinct presence that announces itself clearly in a room without overwhelming, and it stays close enough to the skin to remain appropriate through a long afternoon in a city park or a brisk walk under gray skies.
