Our take

You open with a puff of warm, powdered animal skin—not the barnyard musk that announces itself from across the room, but the soft, intimate kind that smells like a lover’s neck after a long night. Marc-Antoine Corticchiato works with a single note here, but he stretches it into a surprisingly nuanced chypre floral, where the musk plays both the dirty and the clean registers at once. The opening is sweetly powdery, almost cosmetic, but within minutes that powder turns furry, breathing with a gentle, human warmth. As it dries, the sweetness fades into a sheer, soapy softness that clings to fabric and skin like the memory of a cashmere scarf left in an antique chest.

The overall character is a paradox: pristine and feral, a white t-shirt stained with amber. This is not a bomb-thrower. Sillage sits at a modest 3.24, so you wear this for yourself, for the person who steps into your hug, not for the elevator. Longevity, however, is excellent—four out of five stars mean it lasts through a long workday and into bed. The weakness is that some noses will find it too quiet or too strange, a ghost of a scent rather than a statement.

Wear it in autumn and winter, when the cold air makes its animalic edges feel cozy rather than confrontational. It suits anyone who loves the idea of a dirty clean, a flâneur who wants to smell expensive but not loud. Skip it if you need projection or if the notion of smelling like your grandmother’s powder on a cat’s fur gives you the creeps. Otherwise, this is a masterclass in making one molecule sing.
