The door opens onto a narrow street where the air is cool and the pavement still holds the damp of a recent rain. Someone steps inside wearing Gugalanna. The first impression is bright and metallic, with violet leaf and neroli cutting through a sharp saffron thread. Red fruits add a brief, tart glisten before the top notes begin to shift.
The heart settles into a dense floral cream. Orange blossom and jasmine weave through osmanthus and rose, while a splash of mandarin orange lifts the petals just enough to keep them from feeling heavy. Cinnamon and resins warm the air, and the unexpected addition of milk turns the entire floral bouquet into something soft and slightly opaque.
As the evening continues, the base takes over with a firm leather presence. Akigalawood and cedar provide a dry, woody structure that supports the animalic pull of immortelle. Vanilla and marshmallow try to sweeten the edges, but the leather refuses to let the composition become a sugar scent. Musk lingers in the background, blurring the lines between the skin and the smoky, oud-like atmosphere that now fills the room.
The leather continues to wrap around the softer notes, pulling the vanilla into a darker space where the metallic opening feels like a distant memory. The resins keep the air thick, and the creamy heart slowly merges into the woody foundation, creating a texture that feels both rugged and strangely comforting against the cold air pressing against the window.
