Our take

Aldehydes can be a difficult opening to love. They give Amber Efsan a fizzy, slightly metallic sparkle that feels sharp against the skin at first, and that initial bite may put off anyone who prefers a smooth, rounded entrance. It is a bold choice for a fresh scent, and the brightness demands patience before the rest of the composition settles into its stride.

Once that sparkle recedes, the heart offers peony and geranium softened by the green snap of galbanum. Elemi and bergamot from the top carry through to keep the middle airy, while a salty, marine accord runs underneath the flowers. It feels like standing near open water when the sun is high, with a breeze carrying both salt and petals past you.

The base brings amber and cashmeran together with vetiver, but the amber here is pale rather than heavy. It sits lightly against the woody drydown, never turning dark or resinous. The fresh spicy accord keeps the finish clean, so the overall impression stays bright and transparent rather than warm and enveloping, even as the deeper notes appear.

That aldehydic edge remains the dividing line. It keeps the fragrance distinctive and prevents it from blending into the crowd of soft aquatic florals, yet it never fully disappears. If you enjoy a crisp, slightly austere touch that refuses to melt into pure comfort, this is a compelling choice. If you want a gentle, seamless wear, the sharp opening and its lingering trace will likely bother you.
