The heart shifts toward darker, resinous materials as myrrh and coffee take over. Ginger and cinnamon reinforce the warmth already established by the top notes, but the coffee note here is dry and roasted rather than sweet or milky. Myrrh adds a sticky, incense-like quality that pulls the fragrance away from a simple kitchen spice rack and into something more resin-heavy. Tobacco and Peru balsam form a dense, sweet base that carries the tonka bean and vanilla forward. The tobacco is rich and slightly dry, pairing well with the balsamic accord that runs through the entire drydown. Tonka bean and vanilla soften the resinous edges of the myrrh and tobacco, creating a finish that is sweet but not cloying.
