Jameel
Fragrance notes
Character
Jameel opens with a bright, bitter citrus spray that feels like grapefruit rind and bergamot oil pressed straight onto the skin, with ginger adding a sharp, warm sting. This fresh start does not stay light for long. The heart soon pulls the fragrance into darker territory, where cypriol and green tea sit beside a dusty cinnamon and the soft, musky seed of ambrette. Neroli tries to keep a floral window open, but the composition is already leaning toward the heavy woods waiting below. The base is a dense, resinous meeting of oud and frankincense, smoothed by guaiac wood, sandalwood, and vetiver, while modern molecules like sclarene, ambroxan, and ambrocenide push a clean, mineral edge through the smoke. Patchouli and musk round out the foundation, creating a scent that feels woody, earthy, and distinctly smoky all at once.
Composed by Shadi Samra and released in 2025, this masculine oriental woody wears its ambition on its sleeve. The limitation here is the balance between the synthetic freshness of the modern base and the natural weight of the oud. The ambrocenide and sclarene sometimes create a sterile, almost chemical sharpness that fights against the warm resin of the frankincense, making the transition between the bright top and the deep base feel slightly disjointed rather than seamless.
