The cedar and sandalwood in the base lean dry and a little thin, never quite rounding out into the plush wood you expect from the tonka bean. That hollow spot in the drydown is the one place the blend feels unfinished.
Juniper and citruses open bright, then cloves and star anise pull the scent into a warm, slightly powdery space. Lavender and eucalyptus keep the heart airy while sage adds a clean edge. The patchouli here is muted, more earth than weight, and the white musk softens the edges without turning sweet.
The woods and musk sit near the skin, content to stay personal rather than announce themselves across a room. Cedar and sandalwood carry the scent through an evening out, steady enough to remain present while you move through a dimly lit bar.
The tonka bean never fully bridges the gap between the spicy opening and the dry wood, leaving a faint sharpness that some will notice more than others. If you want a seamless transition from bright top to creamy base, this one leaves you wanting a little more polish.
