Khalisa
Fragrance notes
Character
Khalisa opens with a bright mix of peach and Sicilian mandarin, softened by the resinous lift of elemi. Black pepper and cardamom add a sharp, dry spice that keeps the fruit from feeling heavy. The citrus is present but not sharp, and the spices stay close to the skin rather than biting.
The heart introduces osmanthus and rose, both rendered in a soft, powdery style. Fenugreek brings a slightly bitter, nutty edge that sits beside the floral notes without overwhelming them. Benzoin adds a warm resinous weight, while cypriol grounds the middle with a dry, earthy wood tone that pulls the composition away from a standard floral fruity blend.
In the base, sandalwood and oud provide a steady woody foundation. Tonka bean and musk add sweetness and a clean, slightly synthetic smoothness. The vanilla accord is present but restrained, supporting the amber and woody facets rather than leading them. The result is a warm, spicy, and fruity profile that stays consistent across its structure.
The fenugreek note creates a distinct bitterness that may feel out of place to those who expect a smooth, sweet fruity floral. It interrupts the softness of the peach and rose instead of blending quietly into the background. This sharp contrast makes the composition feel uneven in places.
