Our take

Iceberg by Iceberg opens with a bright, slightly abrasive slap of galbanum and basil over a dewy citrus mix of bergamot and lemon, softened just enough by a whisper of peach. It feels like a 1989 power shoulder pad in liquid form: polished, assertive, and unapologetically synthetic in the way that era did so well. The heart swells into a dense bouquet of lily, jasmine, rose, and ylang-ylang, with orris root adding a dusty, powdery veil that keeps the sweetness in check. What emerges after an hour or so is a familiar, mossy woody base of oakmoss, cedar, and vetiver, grounded by a clean musk and a faint amber warmth. This is a mainstream floral chypre that smells like a department store counter in the early nineties, crisp and bossy, but with a distinct green thread that stops it from tipping into stale potpourri.

The longevity sits around three to four hours on skin, and sillage stays modest, refusing to shout the way its opening suggests it might. That’s both a weakness and a grace: the top notes promise more drama than the dry down delivers, but the powdery floral finish wears easily in warm weather. It suits someone who wants a no-nonsense daytime floral with a retro, structured edge, but anyone looking for modern transparency or deep projection should keep walking. Wear it on a bright spring afternoon when you want to feel put together without commanding the room, and let the moss do the talking.
