Our take

Vanille Baïkal opens with violet leaves and bergamot brightened by a pinch of salt. The violet gives a green, slightly crushed edge that keeps the citrus from feeling sharp. Salt sits lightly across the top, adding a dry lift that prepares the nose for the sweetness waiting underneath without turning the start into a beach scene.

The heart centers on bourbon vanilla and vanilla supported by jasmine. The vanilla is rich and rounded, leaning edible but stopped short of syrup by the floral line of jasmine. That flower adds a clean, slightly indolic brightness that prevents the middle from collapsing into a single sugary note. It feels smooth rather than heavy.

Sandalwood, amber, and white musk form a base that stays close to the skin. The sandalwood is creamy and mild, the amber warm but restrained, and the musk clean and slightly soapy. Together they give the vanilla a soft landing that avoids the sticky residue found in many gourmand compositions.

The accord list promises ozonic and aquatic facets, yet the salt and violet leaves do not carry enough water to make the fragrance truly feel like air or sea. Those promised impressions remain faint, leaving the vanilla and powder to do most of the work while the cooler elements stay in the background.
