Fresh herbs (Herbes Fraiches)
Fragrance notes
Character
A garden path winds between low stone walls where the morning sun sits warm on the pale limestone. Rosemary grows in loose clumps along the edge, its needles brushing against thyme stems that release a quiet, dry scent when the breeze moves them. Mint hides in the shaded cracks near the wall, cool and bright against the heat rising from the ground. The air carries all three at once, with no single plant stepping forward to lead. It is aromatic and green, touched by a gentle woody dryness that feels carved from the stones themselves rather than from anything sweet or heavy. The herbal accord stays close to the skin of the hands that brushed the leaves, simple and unpretentious, as if the landscape itself decided to rest on the air for a while.
Light catches the dust on a pair of gardening gloves left on the wall, and the scent lingers there like a memory of the work just finished. There is no rush in it, no attempt to impress or to outlast the afternoon. It smells of hands that have been among plants, of warm air moving through a narrow space, of a moment paused in the middle of a day that asks nothing more than to be walked through slowly.
