Bergamot opens Aqua di Roma with a bright, citrus spark that immediately meets saffron and nutmeg. The spice is warm and dry, not heavy or sweet, and the amber in the top layer gives the opening a golden tint without turning it gourmand. Cedar and geranium take over the middle, with jasmine adding a soft white floral lift and cloves bringing a gentle bite. The heart stays aromatic and woody rather than floral, so the jasmine never dominates. It reads as a structured blend where each note has a clear place, and the spices keep the green edges of the geranium in check.
Patchouli and vetiver anchor the base alongside incense and moss. The earthy accord deepens the woody character, and the incense adds a faintly resinous haze that suits evening wear and formal settings.
