The air is cool enough that breath fogs near the ground, and the courtyard stones still hold the damp of an earlier rain. Someone stands near a low stone wall with a leather jacket slung over one arm, the citrus from the morning long faded into something drier. Pink pepper and sage arrive first, bright and green, then the sharp lift of pomelo and mandarin orange cuts through the damp air. Bergamot smooths the edges so the opening feels clean rather than loud.
Iris and tonka bean settle in as the heart takes shape, powdery and soft against the sharper cedar and cardamom. Sandalwood rounds the middle without making it sweet, and the composition begins to lean into its darker side. Leather and suede press forward, supported by vanilla and amberwood that keep the base from turning harsh. Labdanum and oakmoss add a mossy depth while incense curls through the mix, anchored by ambroxan that makes the whole blend feel modern and composed.
The wooden bench near the iron gate wears a faint sheen of rain, and the scent of leather and iris hangs in the air where the jacket was just set down.
