Fleurs de Brignoles (Plum Blossom)
Fragrance notes
Character
This opens with a puff of almond dust sweet and nutty, like crushed marzipan on a cold morning. Then the plum blossom arrives, a fragile white petal floating on air. It is not a jammy fruit but the actual bloom, dewy and pale with a faint soapy freshness that keeps the almond from turning into dessert. Together they form the scent of an orchard glimpsed through a misted window. The whole thing lands as a watercolor sketch, lovely but barely there. Longevity and sillage are dismal, around a 2 out of 5. Within an hour, what was a gentle hug becomes a memory you press your nose to your wrist to retrieve. That is the real weakness here, a fragrance this pretty deserves more time to tell its story. It feels natural and clean, unmistakably mainstream but in the best way, straightforward and honest. This is for someone who wants a spring morning in a bottle, a quick brush of sweetness before moving on. Wear it to brunch, to the farmer’s market, on a Sunday when you want to smell like soap and sunshine, not seduction. Skip it if you crave presence or a scent that lasts past lunch. It vanishes like the last snow of March, and that is either poetic or infuriating.
