Flocked & Gilded
Fragrance notes
Character
Flocked & Gilded opens with a bright, slightly bitter citrus flash from blood orange that quickly softens as the tobacco and honey in the heart take over. The tobacco here is warm and dry, threaded through with a thick honeyed sweetness that borders on heavy, while vanilla and cacao add a rounded, dessert-like depth. Whipped cream sounds playful in the list, yet on skin it behaves like a smooth, milky haze that lifts the denser resins just enough to keep the blend from sitting flat. Labdanum and amber give the early stage a resinous grip, so the citrus does not vanish so much as blend into a warm, orange-toned glow.
The sweetness lingers through the drydown, where benzoin and gurjan balsam carry that same golden tone into a woody, slightly earthy vetiver and patchouli base. Musk sits quietly underneath, letting the resins and tobacco lead without thinning the composition. The scent stays present through a long afternoon without reaching outward across a space, holding close to skin in a warm, steady layer. It suits a crisp morning when the air feels cool but the sun is out, or a dim, heated room when the windows are closed against the cold. Flocked & Gilded feels most at home in that amber accord, where tobacco, honey, and resin meet and refuse to separate.
