Our take

Ambyria opens with a hot, dusty heat. Cumin and pink pepper hit first, followed quickly by cinnamon that feels more like ground bark than candy. This is not a gentle welcome. The spices are loud and slightly abrasive, creating a thick curtain that demands attention in the first few minutes.

Once the initial intensity settles, the heart reveals a cooling contrast. Jasmine tea steeps alongside damask rose and geranium, offering a floral breath that feels steeped in hot water rather than fresh from a garden. The tea note provides a bitter, green edge that cuts through the heavy spice. Sandalwood and patchouli anchor the base, joined by oud and frankincense that give the blend a resinous, church-like weight. It smells like standing near a bonfire where the smoke wraps around a heavy wool coat.

The overall impression is dense and aromatic, suited for a walk through wet leaves when the air bites at the cheeks. It feels sophisticated but unapologetic, trading lightness for a deep, woody presence. The frankincense lingers, leaving a trail of warm spicy and oud accords that define the entire experience.
