Our take

Existe Amor na Amora opens like a bruised fruit compote left to caramelize on a summer stove, all sticky dried apricot and peach jam ladled over a bergamot rind. The sweetness is immediate and dense, a Brazilian tropicalism that feels more like a confectioner’s glaze than a perfume’s top note. Then the heart softens, white rose and orange blossom threading through the fruit pulp with a powder that lands somewhere between a vintage lipstick and a baby wipe. It’s a strange pivot, but it works because the base refuses to let the whole thing collapse into candy floss. Praline and tonka give a roasted nuttiness, patchouli and cedar anchor it in a dark wood cabinet, musk blurring the edges into a fuzzy, lactonic aura.

This is a scent that wants to be worn into a cashmere sweater on a damp autumn evening, not blasted into a crowded room. The sillage sits close (2.84 says it all) and the longevity is a frustrating two hours before it becomes a skin memory, which is a shame because the drydown, that creamy patchouli tonalité, deserves more time. It feels mainstream in construction but niche in its unabashed sweetness, a little synthetic around the fruit edges, but charmingly so. Best suited for a woman who wants to smell like she just finished baking something indulgent and then spilled a little jam on her collar. Anyone who runs from gourmands or expects projection should skip it. Wear it for a quiet dinner, a brisk winter walk, or when you need a hug in a bottle. Does the world have room for another fruity oriental when its performance fades so fast? Maybe, if the memory is this sweet. 🍑
