Act 3
Fragrance notes
Character
Act 3 finds its place on skin that is already warm from an evening out. It suits someone who wants a scent that feels intimate and a little unruly when the lights drop and the room gets quiet. This is not a fragrance for bright morning errands or casual daytime gatherings where everything needs to stay polite and predictable.
The notes present here are Laotian oud and ionones. The oud carries a deep woody presence that feels dense and slightly animalic. It does not smell clean or polished. The ionones add a soft floral touch that leans powdery and mild, sitting close to that heavy wood without trying to lift it. Together they create a dense, slightly dirty composition that stays firmly in one mood.
Pantomime released this in 2023, composed by Fredrik Dalman. The scent feels unapologetically niche and leans into a raw material quality that some will find captivating and others will find abrasive. It is a straightforward blend that does not shift or offer much contrast once it is on the skin.
There is no brightness or freshness to balance the weight. The powder from the ionones sometimes clashes with the rough edges of the oud rather than smoothing them. It can feel monotonous after a while, offering a single heavy tone that does not invite repeated close appreciation.
