Theatre Scent No 4
Fragrance notes
Character
The room is dim and the curtains are drawn against the cold. A heavy wooden door shuts and the air changes. Frankincense rises first, dry and resinous, like the inside of a stone chapel where the heat comes only from candle flames. It does not sparkle or greet you with citrus. It sits in the air with a solemn weight that feels older than the furniture in the room.
Immortelle follows and tilts the composition toward something edible without ever becoming a dessert. Siam benzoin and labdanum provide a thick amber foundation that feels physical, like warm resin rubbed between the palms. Oud adds a dark, woody depth that avoids sharpness, while cedar keeps the base from feeling too soft. Musk lingers underneath it all, blurring the edges so the resins feel close to the skin rather than sprayed across a crowd.
This is a scent for the person who steps out onto a quiet street after a long dinner, collar turned up, content to walk home under bare trees while the air around them stays warm and resinous.
