Our take

Green notes and bergamot open crisp and slightly bitter, neroli taking the edge off just enough that it never reads purely vegetal. The green opening leans closer to crushed stems than to fruit, an unusually dry start for a floral of this era. Iris takes over quickly in the heart, cool and powdery, with rose and narcissus adding a slightly waxy floral depth and ylang-ylang bringing a touch of warmth to an otherwise cold-leaning composition.

Oakmoss, vetiver, and leather anchor the base into something dry and earthy, classic chypre territory, and the drydown holds its shape well after the green top has faded. Sandalwood softens the mossy edge just slightly, though this never turns genuinely warm or sweet. The sillage stays composed and close, iris and leather doing most of the quiet work right at skin level.

This shows best with bright daylight and cool morning air, when the green, citrus opening reads freshest, though the iris and moss underneath give it a coolness that lingers regardless of season. It is unusual among florals for being genuinely unisex, more aromatic and mossy than sweet, appealing to those who want a cerebral, slightly austere floral instead of something soft and warm.
