Our take

Immortelle by Manos Gerakinis opens with a clove-spiked cinnamon that feels less like a holiday candle and more like a resinous slap from an old world apothecary. The heat settles quickly into immortelle’s signature hay-like, syrupy herbaceousness, and here the milk note arrives not as a creamy whisper but as something slightly sour, almost cultured. That tension between sweet and funky is the fragrance’s whole reason to exist. The dry down leans into brown sugar and benzoin, sandalwood and patchouli smoothing everything into a powdery, slightly soiled amber that clings like a honey-stained wool blanket you can’t quite wash out. This is a niche work through and through, unapologetically dense and polarizing. The longevity is respectable for its weight class at 3.6 out of 5, but the sillage stays intimate, closer to a personal scent bubble than a room-filling announcement. It feels best when the air turns cold, autumn through winter, and works as easily by daylight as under evening lamps. Who should wear it? Someone who wants their sweetness tempered with earth and spice, who doesn’t flinch at a lactonic edge. Skip it if you prefer your gourmands clean and uncomplicated, because this one leaves a stain on your memory.
