Character
A sunlit terrace in early March holds a bowl of sliced peach and pear beside a glass of cold tea. The fruit is ripe but not heavy, its juice catching the light while a faint dusting of pink pepper sits on the skin of the slice nearest the edge. Mimosa rests against that fruit, its soft pollen texture blurring the boundary between what is floral and what is sweet. Vanilla and tolu balsam sit further back, warm and resinous, anchoring the air so the brightness does not float away. The scent feels like a room with the windows open, where a wooden table still holds the heat of the morning sun and a handful of yellow petals has been placed in a shallow dish.
Sandalwood and Haitian vetiver ground the scene, their dry lines keeping the sweetness from becoming a thick syrup. Cloves add a small spark of heat, enough to remind the air that winter has only just left. Osmanthus and heliotrope round the edges, their apricot and almond tones folding into the peach so smoothly that the fruit no longer reads as a single note but as a warm, golden hour on the skin.
