Our take

A white cotton sheet is drying on a line under an open window. Someone is cutting into a cold, just-ripe pineapple on a wooden board below. The juice is barely sweet, more green than candy, and the air smells of that bright, watery fruit mixed with the clean, cool scent of laundry. There is no heavy heat here, just the quiet freshness of a morning where the house is still shaded. The iris in the composition does not smell like lipstick or powder. It smells like the cool, damp root of the flower itself, adding a serious, slightly earthy texture to the fruit. It stops the sweetness from becoming a sugar syrup, keeping the scent thin and close to the skin. It does not project outwards to fill the room, but stays near the body like the warmth of the sun on bare arms. The wood and musk are faint, present only as a creamy, soft base that makes the fruit smell like it is coming from the skin rather than a bottle. It is a smell of simple, clean pleasure that does not ask to be noticed, only to be worn. The sheet flaps once in a light breeze, smelling of sun and soap.
