Our take

You open a bag of movie-theater popcorn, except the butter has been melted into a river of caramel and the kernels are dusted with brown sugar. That’s the first burst of Minya Caramel Dulce: sweet, nutty, unapologetically edible. The popcorn note is surprisingly convincing, a warm, puffed grain that quickly gives way to a chestnut-chocolate heart, softened by benzoin’s powdery resin. It smells like a winter fair in a jar, sticky and rich, with vanilla and caramel anchoring the dry-down into a dense, lactonic vanilla that’s more homemade pudding than perfume.

At 2.60 for sillage and just under 3 for longevity, this is a fragrance that whispers rather than shouts. It sits close to the skin, a comfortable, skin-sweet scent that fades within a few hours. For the price and the gourmand ambition, it’s pleasant but fleeting. You get the warmth of a freshly baked pastry, but the pastry is gone before you’ve finished the story you’re telling. The synthetic edge is minimal; it reads as a mainstream gourmand with niche intentions, but the performance holds it back.

This one belongs to winter and fall, ideally layered under a wool scarf or worn during a quiet evening at home. It suits anyone who loves hyper-sweet, foody scents and doesn’t mind reapplying. Skip it if you need a fragrance to fill a room or last through a workday. After all, what good is a caramel cloud that drifts away before you can taste it? 🍿
