Our take

Mister Caviar opens with a bright, almost aggressive spritz of lemon and tangerine, the herbal notes cutting through like a fistful of crushed mint. It’s a cheerful, citrusy slap that promises more than it delivers. Within minutes, the heart arrives: nutmeg and cardamom dust the top notes with a soft, warm spice, but the transition feels rushed, like a chef who forgot to let the stock simmer. The dry down settles into a polite blend of vetiver and sandalwood, clean and woody, but the whole thing fades to a skin scent in under two hours. It’s the olfactory equivalent of a hotel lobby orange slice, bright and inviting from a distance, but close up you notice the plastic wrapper.

This is a perfectly serviceable, synthetic-leaning freshie for someone who wants a citrus fix without the price tag of a niche house. The sillage barely whispers, so you’ll be the only one enjoying it, which is fine if you’re the type to keep your fragrance to yourself. It wears best in the heat of summer, daytime only, when the citrus can do its job without competing for attention. Skip this if you crave projection, longevity, or any kind of complexity. It’s a shallow pool, but sometimes a quick dip is all you need.
