Peony adds a crisp, green-tinged floral layer that prevents the introduction from becoming too candied. As the fragrance moves into its heart, the namesake Damask rose emerges, not as a sharp, dewy red rose, but as a velvety, slightly powdery bloom. Magnolia sits beside it, contributing a creamy, lemony freshness that lifts the heavy floralcy. The base provides a dry, slightly salty finish. Ambergris offers a subtle, musky warmth without the heavy sweetness typical of amber, while cedar provides a dry, pencil-shaving sharpness that anchors the soft florals. The overall impression is a clean, transparent rose fragrance that prioritizes freshness over depth. However, the composition feels somewhat linear.
