It opens with a brief, bright chatter, then sinks into a contemplative, balsamic haze that lingers close to the skin.
The overall character is like stepping into a dusty vault of old film reels and silver nitrate, where the air is thick with dried flowers and candle wax. It feels synthetic in a deliberate, artful way, not natural, but far from cheap. The powdery iris and incense dominate, giving it a melancholic, almost monastic weight, yet the grapefruit keeps it from drowning. It is niche in spirit, with a mainstream price tag that will irk some.
The longevity is a real weakness. For such a dense, resinous composition, three and a half hours is disappointing, and the sillage sits as a faint whisper after an hour. It shines best in cool weather, fall and winter, and works for day or night. Who should wear it? The person who finds beauty in faded glamour, who loves iris and smoke, and who does not mind reapplying. Skip it if you want a loud, all-day statement or anything remotely fresh.
