Mango and red berries open God of Fire with a bright, almost sticky sweetness, ginger and lemon cutting through before the fruit gets a chance to feel heavy. It's a loud, warm-weather kind of start, the sort of opening that smells better on bare arms than under a coat. The fruit here reads more tropical than jammy, thanks to the citrus keeping everything lifted.
Coumarin, jasmine and cedar settle the heart into something rounder and slightly hay-like, a bridge between the fruit and the resinous base waiting underneath, jasmine keeping a thread of florality alive even as the woods start to take hold. Musk, oud, amber and cypriol take over from there, giving the drydown a woody, oud-heavy backbone that grounds all that early sweetness.
Once it settles it clings, longevity refusing to thin out through the composition's later stages, and it throws a small halo that registers with whoever's nearby without pushing further. Stéphane Humbert Lucas and Vincent Ricord built something that swings between fruit-forward and resinous without losing its footing, and that split personality is what makes it worth trying on skin instead of trusting a description, since the balance shifts more than once as it wears.
