Our take

A small room fills with warm air as a fire crackles in the hearth. Someone peels a ripe peach near the window, its juice catching the low light, while a slice of orange rests on a nearby table. The fruit feels bright against the heavy stillness of the space. Soon the air turns creamy as jasmine sambac and tuberose rise from a ceramic bowl, their petals crushed and sweet. Siam benzoin adds a resinous, almost vanilla-like weight that settles into the wood panels lining the walls. Sandalwood and guaiac wood ground the scene, their dry presence mixing with the subtle sharpness of Virginia cedar. The atmosphere feels powdery and intimate, a blend of amber warmth and white floral richness that wraps around the room without overwhelming it.

Christelle Laprade composed this Rallet release to live in these quiet, dim spaces. Soir Antique carries the glow of its heart through the resin and the flowers, letting the woods support rather than dominate. The peach and orange give way to a lush floral core that feels both vintage and immediate. It suits someone who enjoys a fragrance that feels like a heavy silk curtain drawn against the cold. Those who dislike dense white florals or powdery resins will find it too opulent for their taste. The scene remains defined by the sandalwood.
