Empressa IX
Fragrance notes
Character
Empressa IX opens with a bright, resinous rush of pink pepper, grapefruit, bitter orange, and bergamot. Frankincense and ginger add a dry, slightly medicinal heat, while rum and cardamom bring a warm, aromatic sweetness that keeps the citrus from feeling sharp. The entrance feels lively and complex at once, moving quickly between fresh and spicy without settling on one mood. White tobacco and saffron lead the heart, supported by osmanthus and tuberose. Jasmine and orris soften the edges, and dried fruits add a chewy, golden sweetness beside smooth sandalwood. The floral side is rich rather than airy, leaning into the white floral accord with noticeable weight. Myrrh, tonka bean, labdanum, and vanilla form a deep, resinous base. Cedar and vetiver add dry wood and earth, while musk and patchouli give a dark, slightly animalic finish. The amber accord ties the resins and sweetness together so the composition feels cohesive. It suits a cool evening where the air is crisp and the light is low, when warm fabrics and dim rooms make heavy florals and spices feel natural. The profile is bold, slightly powdery, and unmistakably resinous, with tuberose and amber lingering as the final impression.
